Job Description
Service Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Program Facilitator is responsible for:
Supporting learners during sessions by using ABA evidence-based strategies to promote skill development;
Plan, participate & coordinate programming, lead group and individual sessions for children, youth and adults to support the achievement of social/life skill development;
Complete data forms, reports, and communication logs, as required;
Participate in meetings and case conferences, as required;
Participate in training, as required;
Collaborate with team members, as appropriate;
Facilitate Superior Life Skills-approved programs as assigned;
Explore participants’ changing interests and developmental needs to stay informed of changes;
Utilize Superior Life Skills resources to develop coordinated, effective programs;
Assess programs periodically to ensure relevancy;
Meet periodically with parents/community partners to explain programs and keep them updated on participants’ progress; encourage family involvement;
Inform supervisor and other necessary staff of problems, concerns, needs, and trends;
Lead special projects and initiatives as assigned;
Understand, and implement proper fiscal controls for program expenses;
Meet programmatic goals and deadlines as set by the supervisor.
Skills & Abilities
Excellent planning, organization, problem-solving, decision-making & liaison skills;
Ability to teach both individuals and groups focusing on social/life skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team
Proficiency with use of computers and technology.
Qualifications
Post-secondary degree or diploma with at least one year of relevant working experience, or equivalent work experience in lieu of formal education
Experience facilitating workshops and interactive group activities, working directly with diverse youth and adults with a variety of learning styles and needs within a workshop, classroom, or conference setting.
Have a personal and professional interest in teaching social and life skills.
Strong presentation and workshop facilitation skills and ability to engage the audience in a classroom, community workshop, or conference environment.
Strong communication skills.
Excellent planning, and time and project management skills with proven ability to see projects and tasks to completion.
Willingness to participate in training and workshops to increase skill set.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team within a flexible professional environment, with minimal supervision.
This position involves flexible hours to include weekday evenings and occasional weekends.
This position requires the ability to travel between locations, as well as a valid Drivers’ License.
Clearance from a Vulnerable Sector Police Screening.
